The Jazz Urbane Cafe, a long-planned jazz club in Nubian Square, has secured $2.5 million to proceed with its opening. Founded by Bill Banfield, the venue aims to be an urban arts hub featuring local and national musicians, alongside a full restaurant and event space. The financing includes loans from MassDevelopment and M&T Bank, as well as support from the Boston Foundation. The cafe will occupy 8,000 square feet in the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building, seating 200 guests with various amenities.
