Voting in New York City's general election on November 4 requires registration by October 25 for those not already registered. Mail-in ballots will be accepted starting September 17, and early voting is available from October 25 to November 2. On election day, polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voters will select candidates for various local offices including Mayor and City Council. Unlike primaries, the general election uses a traditional voting method rather than ranked-choice voting.
Anyone registered to vote in New York, 18 years of age or older, can vote in the November general election. If you are not registered, you must do so by Oct. 25.
The NYC Board of Elections will begin accepting mail-in ballots from voters on Sept. 17. Early voting begins on Saturday, Oct. 25, and continues through Nov. 2.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4, with polls open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Voters must vote at their assigned polling location.
Voters will weigh in on races for Mayor, City Comptroller, Public Advocate, Borough Presidents, City Council Members, and ballot questions on the City Charter.
