Brooklyn Bar's Young Lawyers' 'Habeas Chopus' event warrants a night of throwing axes - literally - to let off some steam
Briefly

The Young Lawyers Section of the Brooklyn Bar Association recently held an axe-throwing event to provide younger attorneys a chance to network and decompress. Initiated by Jean-Luc LeGrand, this unique gathering aimed to foster community among the new generation of lawyers amidst the pressures of their profession. Angie Khawly, the section chair, emphasized the importance of mentorship and skill amplification for young lawyers, stating how such events help bridge the gap with seasoned attorneys and create a supportive environment for growth and creativity.
As a young attorney, I know how frustrating our profession can be, it seemed like a good idea. I've never thrown an ax in my entire life, but I'm doing OK today.
It’s so important to have a bridge between the older, more seasoned attorneys, and the younger ones - the new generation.
We want to help to amplify their skills, and of course, have a space where they feel supported - where they can utilize their creative mind.
We're excited about this opportunity to engage with each other in a more relaxed setting, which is important for networking and building community.
