Brooklyn jury convicts New York-Paris flight stowaway
Briefly

Svetlana Dali, a 57-year-old Russian citizen with U.S. residency, was convicted for sneaking onto a Delta flight without a boarding pass. Despite being turned away at security initially, she blended in with a group of airline employees to bypass checks. Once aboard, she hid in a bathroom until the flight neared its destination in Paris, where she was discovered. The jury trial in Brooklyn was short, leading to a guilty verdict, with Dali facing up to six months in prison without a set sentencing date yet.
Dali initially failed to get through security before slipping into a special security lane for airline employees, successfully boarding the flight to Paris undetected.
After successfully blending in with airline staff, Dali managed to evade ticket checks and later hid in the airplane's bathroom until the flight neared France.
