Edwin B. Maxwell assumed the role of Chief Librarian at the Brooklyn Public Library after nearly two decades with the system. He established the Growing Dollars and Sense Teen Virtual Investment Club and led the New Lots Library branch, during which the branch earned the Revson Award for community service. As Senior Director of Neighborhood Services, he oversaw almost 700 employees, operations at 60 branches, satellite services including bookmobiles, and several major projects. He expanded Satellite Services, launched the Teen Tech Center network, and emphasized environmental and civic engagement. He succeeds Nick Higgins, who left after nearly two decades.
