City council members led events across boroughs: Alexa Avilés led a march and rally in Sunset Park; Shahana Hanif, Jen Gutiérrez, Sandy Nurse, and Lincoln Wrestler organized small-business canvassing; Carmen de La Rosa, Shekar Krishnah, and Tiffany Cabán held rallies, tabling, and a resource fair. About 200 protesters gathered in Sunset Park and marched to a park rally. Speakers accused ICE of unlawful, violent practices and pledged to defend sanctuary city policies amid legal threats.
