Cherry Cayetano Sobel, a 44-year-old registered nurse and mother of two, was fatally struck by a private ambulance in Brooklyn. The incident occurred as she crossed Ocean Ave. at Avenue O. Despite being rushed to Maimonides Medical Center, she succumbed to her injuries. Witnesses reported the ambulance continued down the street after the collision. Friends described Sobel as a caring individual who helped rehabilitate patients with severe injuries and expressed concern for her children following the tragedy.
