Museum on Wheels rolls back through Brooklyn, bringing hands-on art to 7 neighborhoods Brooklyn Paper
"Laval Bryant-Quigley, director of community engagement and partnerships at Brooklyn Museum, stated that the Museum on Wheels' extension was a natural response to last year's incredible feedback. At its core, this work is about building lasting relationships between the Brooklyn Museum and those we encounter around the borough."
"By meeting people where they are and reflecting their experiences, we create strong pathways to the Museum that go beyond a single visit. The initiative aims to deepen connections with the community through storytelling and educational activities inspired by the museum's collection."
The Brooklyn Museum's Museum on Wheels initiative will return for its 2026 season, traveling throughout Brooklyn from May to October. This program, housed in a colorful Airstream trailer, offers hands-on cultural experiences in collaboration with local organizations. It aims to build lasting relationships with the community by reflecting their experiences and providing intergenerational programming. The initiative first launched last year during the museum's bicentennial celebration and successfully reached over 4,000 participants at various events across the borough.
