A Corona man, Nelson Torres, was indicted on murder charges for fatally stabbing 22-year-old Anderson David Archila Martinez during a bike theft attempt. The incident occurred following a minor collision when Archila Martinez bumped into Torres' backpack while waiting in line for food. After an argument, Torres allegedly pushed Martinez off his bike and stole it. When Martinez attempted to retrieve his bike and called 911, Torres stabbed him in the abdomen, leading to his death shortly after.
As alleged, the defendant violently ended the life of a young man who did nothing more than bump into him.
Torres faces up to life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Spring Valley resident Anderson David Archila Martinez.
