Coach Sandy Brondello praised Stewartâs performance, stating her presence significantly improved the team. Meanwhile, teammate Sabrina Ionescu shone with 25 points, thrilling the crowd. The exhibition showcased the promising chemistry between the teamâs stars just ahead of the season opener, where they will defend their WNBA title amid celebrations.
"I thought she looked really good," Liberty coach Sandy Brondello said of Stewart, who needed only 15 minutes of court time to pour in 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting in New York's 84-61 rout of the Toyota Antelopes.
"She hasn't played 5-on-5 for five months," Brondello added.
"She makes us a much better team. We'll build her up these next few days, get her ready for Vegas," Brondello said.
