Veteran Terance Mann proving on-ball value among Nets youth movement
""I mean, [Fernández] warned me that it might be that," Mann told The Post on Thursday while at a Raising Cane's event in Times Square to help unveil a 2,741-pound carved pumpkin that set a New York and United States record."
""In some games, I might have to be on-ball. Some games, I might have to be off the ball, so I'm kinda ready for whatever.""
""These guys don't give me the chance to feel too old," Mann said."
Terance Mann assumed on-ball playmaking responsibilities for the Brooklyn Nets, recording a team-high six assists and 11 points in a 117-112 loss to the Hawks. Head coach Jordi Fernández tasked Mann with initiating the offense, especially down the stretch, and Mann earned closing minutes alongside Tyrese Martin over rookies Egor Dëmin and Ben Saraf. Mann logged 30 minutes and finished with the team's best net rating (11.7) early in the season. At 29 and in his seventh NBA season, Mann supplies veteran ball-handling and floor orchestration to a roster heavy with recent draft picks. Mann also attended a Raising Cane's event unveiling a 2,741-pound carved pumpkin and said he is ready to play on- or off-ball as needed.
