Former engineer is retired but not slowing down. He's an intern at age 66.
Briefly

Tim Armstrong, 66, retired after a 40-year engineering career at General Motors and relocated to Houston to be near his children and grandchildren. He applied for and accepted an internship with the Texas Golf Association shortly after turning 66 and began work in March. He joined younger, college-aged interns and embraced a mentoring role, sharing experience and guidance. After completing the internship, he obtained his first professional golf position at Jersey Meadows Golf Club in the Houston area. He developed a passion for golf watching Tiger Woods and describes golf as a lifelong journey he is enjoying.
I knew I could never be as good as Tiger, but this is pretty close.
I got my offer back in February, but they wouldn't let me start until the first week of March. I wanted to start as soon as possible because I knew this was going to be an amazing opportunity and I was ready to learn the other side of the golf industry.
At 66, I identified with the other interns. I've always been a mentor, and I wanted to give back to the younger generation.
Golf is a lifelong journey and I'm loving every minute of it.
