Exchanges increasingly cooperate rather than compete as they adapt to new asset classes and investor demand. Global stock markets have reached all-time highs this year, partly driven by retail participation and investment fads. Public market activity is picking up in 2025, with more companies seeking listings, including private equity and government-backed firms. Saudi Arabia's IPO cadence rose from about eight to nine annual listings three years ago to roughly 40–45 now. Hong Kong completed close to 80 IPOs and reports improved investability of Chinese stocks.
