Databricks has strengthened its Data Intelligence platform by integrating a managed PostgreSQL database, allowing developers to efficiently build AI agents while managing resources effectively. This introduction addresses common infrastructure challenges, minimizes performance bottlenecks, and cuts costs. Additionally, Databricks has incorporated BladeBridge's capabilities, launching Lakebridge—an innovative, AI-powered migration tool for seamless data transfer to Databricks SQL. Competing with Snowflake's newly launched SnowCovert, which also features AI-driven data migration, these tools signify a significant shift toward automation in data management and migration solutions.
The addition of the managed PostgreSQL database to the Data Intelligence platform will allow developers to quickly build and deploy AI agents without having to concurrently scale compute and storage.
Databricks has finally integrated the capabilities of BladeBridge into the Data Intelligence platform, in the form of Lakebridge - a free, AI-assisted tool to aid data migration.
Earlier this month, Databricks rival Snowflake also introduced a similar tool, named SnowCovert, that uses agents to help enterprises move their data.
