Arrest made in killing of California woman kidnapped from mall

"Her husband knew she planned on picking up Easter candy for their 6-year-old son after work, so he wasn't initially worried when she didn't come home right away. Suzanne Sites-Fenton, 32, disappeared while working a night shift at Mervyn's in Victorville on April 14, 2001 after leaving for a parking-lot break. Her blue Honda Civic was found locked at a nearby Big 5 with her purse and ID inside and officials noted "evidence of a physical altercation." Two days later a man searching an illegal dump discovered her body at Mariposa Road and Ranchero Street in Hesperia; deputies said she had been sexually assaulted and shot. The case went cold until the county cold-case unit developed new leads and obtained an arrest warrant for Raymond Silva Gonzales, 51, arrested near Smoke Tree Street in Hesperia.
