
"Petty theft, possession of stolen property, controlled substance and drug paraphernalia: Between Aug. 29 and Sept. 1, someone stole an unlocked bicycle and bike tool bag from Redwood Middle School on Fruitvale Avenue. A suspect was located in possession of the tool bag in Sunnyvale, but the bike was not located, for a loss valued at approximately $758. The suspect, who was also in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and had an outstanding warrant, was arrested and booked into main jail."
"Attempted theft by false pretenses: On Sept. 3, a Saratoga resident reported calling a tech support phone number found online and speaking to someone who tried to convince the victim to send money. The victim ultimately realized she was being scammed and did not send any money. Sept. 5 Residential burglary: Between 12:40 p.m. on Sept. 4 and 3:55 p.m. on Sept. 5, someone entered a residence in the 14000 block of Vickery Avenue by breaking a rear glass door."
On Aug. 26 at 5:18 p.m., someone entered Ace Hardware in the Argonaut Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and stole merchandise valued at approximately $499. Between Aug. 29 and Sept. 1, an unlocked bicycle and bike tool bag were stolen from Redwood Middle School on Fruitvale Avenue; the tool bag was recovered but the bicycle was not, with a loss valued at about $758. The suspect found with the tool bag possessed methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and an outstanding warrant, and was arrested and booked into main jail. On Sept. 3 a Saratoga resident contacted a tech support phone number and was solicited for money but did not send any funds after recognizing the scam. Between 12:40 p.m. on Sept. 4 and 3:55 p.m. on Sept. 5 someone broke a rear glass door to enter a residence in the 14000 block of Vickery Avenue; it is unknown if anything was taken.
