Charles Munger Jr., a physicist-turned-political activist and son of billionaire Charles Munger, has donated over $30 million to oppose Proposition 50 in California's Nov. 4 special election. Many "No on 50" television ads are backed by his contributions. He previously spent about $14 million supporting Arnold Schwarzenegger's push for an independent redistricting commission. Munger held a rare press briefing explaining his opposition and said he is acting to defend ordinary voters and address perceived flaws in the political system. He described using his financial resources and analytical skills to correct redistricting problems that affect voter representation.
