Frank Somerville, 67, faces a single misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly punching his girlfriend and her adult daughter during a Nov. 19, 2024 altercation in their Oakland home. Police reported Somerville was inebriated and experiencing a mental health episode when he became angry after his girlfriend began filming him. The adult daughter intervened; the two removed Somerville from the home, locked the door, and waited for police. The girlfriend initially sought a restraining order citing periodic verbal abuse but later stopped after Somerville sought treatment for alcohol addiction and completed rehab. The charge was filed Sept. 22; Somerville is due in court Oct. 6.
