Customers posted videos alleging that Great White's Melrose location seated Asian diners together on the outdoor patio while other tables closer to the dining room appeared predominantly white. Cassidy Cho posted footage on September 29 showing neighboring tables and saying, "I don't know if it's just me, but they put all Asians in one corner." Content creator Ed Choi amplified the claim on October 2, overlaying Cho's video with prior Yelp reviews and garnering over one million views. Owners Sam Trude and Sam Cooper denied any discrimination and stated that everyone is welcome at the cafe.
