Cupertino will hold the annual election of mayor and vice mayor and the oath of office on Thursday, Dec. 11 at Cupertino Community Hall, with doors opening at 5 p.m., the ceremony at 6 p.m., and refreshments provided. A Poetry in the Dark event at the Cupertino Library on Dec. 5, hosted by Poet Laureate Keiko O'Leary, invites participants to sit in a circle with the lights out and recite memorized poems. A Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputy will lead a Police Read Along story time at the Cupertino Library on Dec. 10 from 10:30 to 11 a.m., with limited seating. Registration is open for winter/spring 2026 classes at Silicon Valley Adult Education offering job-skill programs, high-school diploma equivalency, academic and career technical education, CalWORKs support, and testing services.
