San Jose teens arrested in connection with gang-motivated attack

"SAN JOSE - Two teenage boys were arrested last week in connection with a gang-motivated attack over the summer in San Jose, police said. The incident happened just before 6 p.m. on July 13 at a business in the 3000 block of Meridian Avenue, San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih said in a news release Thursday. The teens confronted three people about their gang affiliation and then "violently attacked" them, Shih said."

"One of the teens allegedly brandished a knife and stabbed one of the victims, while the other teen allegedly physically assaulted a second victim. Shih said the teens left the scene before officers arrived, but detectives later identified them as a pair of 17-year-old San Jose residents. Warrants were issued for both teens. On Oct. 1, the teens were arrested in San Jose on suspicion of crimes including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a weapon."

"One was taken into custody at a school, Shih said, adding that a loaded handgun was found inside his car. Both teens were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
