"Yony Sifredo Trochez Martinez, a 33-year-old resident of San Jose, and Jefferson Aldair Martinez Hernadez, a 26-year-old resident of San Leandro, were each charged with three counts of communicating with a minor with the intent of committing lewd and lascivious behavior, one count of meeting with a minor for the purposes of lewd and lascivious behavior and one count of distribution of harmful material to children with the intent of sexual intercourse, prosecutors said."

An undercover Menlo Park Police officer posed as a 13-year-old girl on WhatsApp and the dating site Badoo on Sept. 24. Three men independently contacted the undercover account and allegedly arrived at a meeting location believing they would meet a minor. Yony Sifredo Trochez Martinez, 33, and Jefferson Aldair Martinez Hernadez, 26, face counts of communicating with a minor with intent to commit lewd and lascivious behavior, meeting with a minor for lewd purposes, and distribution of harmful material to children with intent of sexual intercourse. Arunkumar Kizhakkedath Unnikrishnan, 45, was charged with communicating with a minor and meeting with a child for lewd purposes. All three pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors said the operation targeted child exploitation and sought to identify predators.
