Canadian WW I soldier identified 108 years after his death | CBC News
Briefly

After more than a century, the Canadian military has identified Captain William Webster Wilson, who died in World War I during the Battle of the Ancre Heights in 1916. His grave was located by the Casualty Identification Review Board through extensive historical research. A rededication ceremony will be held in France soon to honor Wilson, whose contributions and ultimate sacrifice are recognized by Canadian officials. Wilson, originally from Edinburgh, immigrated to Canada and served with distinction before enlisting following the outbreak of war.
Captain Wilson gave his life to protect our great country and his identification is a reminder of the sacrifices that he and all Canadians who served have made as well as their families.
Time will never erase the debt we owe to Canadians like Captain Wilson, who more than 100 years ago sacrificed everything to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.
