'Gut-wrenching' grief as mother and daughter (6) killed in Donegal road crash are named
Briefly

A tragic road accident occurred on the R240 in Co Donegal, claiming the lives of a 6-year-old girl named Ella McLaughlin and her mother, Natalie McLaughlin. Two other family members sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The parish priest, Fr Con McLaughlin, expressed deep grief over the incident during his visit to the hospital, recalling the pain of previous accidents in the region. The community has been significantly affected, with many having experienced similar tragedies on local roads. Gardaí are urging witnesses to step forward.
Words are inadequate to express how I feel today. When I heard about the accident, I immediately went straight over to Altnagelvin Hospital and the scene there in the accident and emergency room is something I will never forget. It renewed all the memories I had of the very serious accidents that happened previously in the area. You never forget these things.
The grandmother was showing me photos of the two wee girls, and it was heart-wrenching.
