Hyundai recalls some Elantra Hybrid vehicles over possible overheating, fire risk | CBC News
Hyundai Canada issued a safety recall for 6,082 2024–2026 Elantra Hybrid vehicles due to a possible fire risk. Hyundai states there have been no fires, incidents, injuries, or fatalities related to the issue in Canada. The concern involves the hybrid power control unit, which may overheat. In the U.S., 54,337 vehicles are recalled for the same problem. The U.S. regulator says the issue can cause a no-start condition or reduced power mode in most cases, and could also lead to overheating and increase fire risk. Hyundai will notify affected drivers and provide a free software update to correct the overheating problem.
