Mae Martin, 38, will helm the 55th annual Juno Awards on March 29 at the TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario. The appointment makes Martin the first comedian to host solo since Russell Peters in 2009. The Junos are presented by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and are known as Canada's Biggest Night in Music. Martin received a Juno nomination for comedy album SAP two years earlier. Martin expressed pride in celebrating Canadian art and highlighted Canadian content's global appeal, citing Wayward's 76 percent critics rating and Heated Rivalry's 99 percent Rotten Tomatoes score and status as Crave's most-watched original.
