""The violence ICE is bringing upon people within the United States will not be tolerated anywhere,""
""We will not tolerate Quebec's complicity and Canada's complicity in that violence by way of corporate contracts with ICE,""
""From Minnesota to Montreal, we won't stop until ICE falls.""
""I was a stranger and you invited me in.""
Demonstrators gathered outside the U.S. Consulate in downtown Montreal to protest a controversial ICE crackdown and the recent killing of two American citizens by federal agents in Minneapolis. Organizers accused ICE of violence and called out Canadian and Quebec companies for contracts with the agency, naming Hootsuite, Roshel and GardaWorld. Protesters marched on Ste-Catherine Street and moved to Dorchester Park, chanting slogans linking Minneapolis and Montreal and carrying signs condemning ICE. Banners quoted the Gospel of Matthew appealing to charity. Co-organizer Michael Lipset emphasized zero tolerance for ICE violence while others urged Canada to bar equipment exports to suppliers of ICE.
