A Nov. 27 fire affected two connected condo buildings at 11 Thorncliffe Park Dr. and 21 Overlea Blvd, prompting evacuation of more than 400 units. Toronto Fire Services reported the blaze burned combustible particle board in an expansion joint and crews opened walls in some units to reach the source. The fire was declared extinguished on Dec. 15, and engineers assessed damage before re-entry. Del Property Management received city clearance for partial reoccupation of 11 Thorncliffe Park Dr., allowing residents of 50 units to return. No re-entry date was announced for 21 Overlea Blvd.
