The incident occurred on December 19 when officers responded to a situation involving Daniel Tronko, who fired at an officer. The officer returned fire, striking Tronko in the shoulder. Tronko was arrested and charged with attempted murder following a standoff. The SIU investigates serious incidents involving police and civilians.
