Anita Bourke, a Gorey native, has been honored in Australia for her exceptional service in radiology and volunteering. As the first dual trained nuclear physician and senior breast radiologist in Western Australia, she has worked for over 30 years at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and BreastScreen WA. Anita expressed gratitude for the support from her family and the opportunities provided by Australia. She studied medicine in Dublin and has introduced innovative imaging techniques that improved breast cancer care.
