Yami Moloteni, a 22-year-old cancer survivor from Milton Keynes, was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma at the age of 18. After enduring a lengthy treatment journey including chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, she is participating in her first London Marathon to raise awareness for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Moloteni trains alongside comedian Romesh Ranganathan, who praised her strength and spirit. She humorously shared her unique perspective on life after cancer, emphasizing her rarity as a marathon-running survivor.
"It was an honour to meet Yami, she's such a strong, funny and inspirational person," said Romesh Ranganathan, highlighting Moloteni's remarkable journey as a cancer survivor.
"Only 0.01% of people around the world complete a marathon. When you add cancer survivor to that statistic, I must be even rarer," said Yami Moloteni, reflecting on her dual achievements.
