Russia is reaching 105-110% of its military recruitment targets monthly, as stated by a Ukrainian intelligence official. The Kremlin is contemplating a 17% increase in its overall recruitment goal. Russian recruits benefit from substantial sign-up bonuses, especially in larger cities, with a baseline bonus of 400,000 rubles potentially leading to average totals of 1.5-2 million rubles. This recruitment success enables the deployment of up to 35,000 new troops each month, crucial for sustaining military operations in Ukraine and achieving targets for 2025.
In general, the Russian Federation's recruitment plans are being fulfilled by at least 105 to 110% each month," said Maj. Gen. Vadym Skibitsky. "Russia can send up to 35,000 fresh troops a month to the front."
Recruitment has been buoyed by large sign-up bonuses and other perks for families of injured or killed soldiers, a driving force for Moscow's war sustainment.
The baseline bonus is set at 400,000 rubles, with higher payouts in regions like Moscow and St. Petersburg, offering average sign-up bonuses of 1.5-2 million rubles.
The accelerated recruitment rate has allowed Russia to possibly recruit two-thirds of the 343,000 new soldiers aimed for deployment by 2025.
