Sales have slumped in Ireland and across Europe, with the company appearing to run out of charge this year. Electric car sales in Ireland increased by 36% to the start of December. A much bigger choice of affordable models is available at prices similar to petrol or diesel. Ranges on high-end models have increased, improving appeal. Charging infrastructure is slightly better, with new charging facilities opened on major intercity routes. Affordability, improved ranges, and incremental infrastructure expansion are supporting continued electric vehicle uptake despite some corporate sales weakness.
