Elon Musk Lost It on a Call With the Government After Autopilot Killed a Tesla Driver
Briefly

In March 2018, Walter Huang tragically died in a crash involving his Tesla Model X, which was using the Autopilot feature. The incident raised serious questions about the reliability of driver assistance technologies, especially as Huang was seen playing a mobile game just before the accident. Following the incident, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk expressed intense frustration with the National Transportation Safety Board's investigation, reportedly hanging up on their officials when they challenged the company's claims regarding driver distraction and blamed Huang for the crash. This case brought to light critical safety concerns regarding Autopilot software.
Huang also put enough trust in the software to pull out his iPhone to play a mobile game right up until the fatal crash.
Musk hung up on the NTSB in pure rage, fumed, protested, threatened to sue, and then abruptly exited the conversation when safety investigators refused to bend to his will.
