"The Boulder Concept demonstrates how Hyundai is seeking to give American customers more of what they want. Body-on-frame vehicles are the backbone of American culture, and we want to bring capable midsize pickup vehicles to the region with all our might."
"Adventure is at the core of the Boulder with rear-hinged coach doors for loading and unloading gear. The dual-hinged rear tailgate can also be opened from either side to accommodate bigger adventure gear."
Hyundai introduced the Boulder concept SUV at the 2026 New York auto show, celebrating 40 years in the U.S. The Boulder is built on a body-on-frame platform, aiming to compete with the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler. The design philosophy, termed 'Art of Steel,' combines sleek lines with boxy elements. Future body-on-frame vehicles will be designed and built in America using U.S. Steel. The Boulder features practical elements for adventure, including rear-hinged coach doors and a dual-hinged tailgate for easy gear access.
