On Mother's Day, a 17-year-old driver of a silver 2008 Jeep accidentally accelerated over a bulkhead at Brookhaven Town Marina, causing her SUV to catapult onto a floating dock. The car's front bumper was lost in the incident, and structural damage was inflicted on the dock upon impact. Fortunately, the driver suffered only minor injuries, and local firefighters promptly rescued her. Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico noted the driver's inexperience, emphasizing the luck involved in avoiding a potentially severe accident. The vehicle remains secured on the dock until a tow truck can retrieve it.
