A serious collision occurred outside Kenagh, Co Longford, involving a motorcycle and an SUV on May 9, 2025. A 19-year-old motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to Dublin's Mater Hospital for treatment. Gardaà closed off the road entering the south Longford village for a number of hours last night to allow for a forensic collision investigation to be carried out.
Gardaà are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings and were in the area at the time are asked to provide it to the investigating gardaÃ.
Those examinations have since concluded and the road has reopened as gardaà now attempt to piece together the circumstances behind last night's incident.
