Lamacchia confirmed the departure as his own decision and thanked engineers, designers, buyers, and associates across Fremont, Shanghai, Berlin, and Austin. He previously worked at Rolls-Royce for roughly the same duration. The departure coincides with Cybertruck and Model 3 Program Manager Siddhant Awasthi's voluntary exit today.
