Despite Tesla’s warnings about the limitations of its Autopilot and Full Self-Driving systems, the company will contest the verdict and the damages awarded, citing the driver’s admission of distraction while operating the vehicle.
Tesla’s Autopilot is a driver assistance system intended to be used only with a fully attentive driver. It does not turn a Tesla into a fully autonomous vehicle.
If you repeatedly ignore these warnings, you will be locked out from using Autopilot during that trip.
