Transdev Nederland orders 55 Solaris electric buses, from 9metre to 24metre models - Sustainable Bus
"For this project, as mentioned above, Transdev has chosen both the smallest and largest models in Solaris's electric portfolio. The Urbino 9 LE, equipped with over 400 kWh Solaris High Energy batteries, will serve routes linking smaller communities, while the 24-metre Urbino 24, powered by over 500 kWh batteries, will operate on the busiest corridors. Fleet operations will be supported by eSConnect, Solaris's monitoring and management platform."
"The contract covers both ends of the manufacturer's electric range: the compact Urbino 9 LE electric and the double-articulated Urbino 24 electric. Deliveries are planned for summer 2026, Solaris states. In 2021, the manufacturer delivered Urbino 12 hydrogen buses to Gelderland under the EU-funded JIVE2 programme. Transdev Nederland already operates 20 Urbino 12 hydrogen buses in South Holland and 10 Trollino 18 trolleybuses in Arnhem, while 96 Urbino electric buses are on order for Utrecht ( commissioned in October 2024)."
Transdev Nederland ordered 55 zero-emission buses from Solaris, comprising 42 Urbino 9 LE electric and 13 double-articulated Urbino 24 electric vehicles, with deliveries planned for summer 2026. The vehicles will enter operation in the Arnhem-Nijmegen-Foodvalley concession from the second half of 2026. The Urbino 9 LE units carry over 400 kWh Solaris High Energy batteries for routes linking smaller communities. The 24-metre Urbino 24 buses feature over 500 kWh batteries for the busiest corridors. Fleet operations will use Solaris's eSConnect monitoring and management platform. Transdev already operates Urbino hydrogen buses and trolleybuses and has other Urbino electric buses on order.
