Ashley Cole, former England and Chelsea defender widely regarded as one of the best left-backs of his generation, has been appointed head coach of Serie B club Cesena. This marks his first senior managerial role after beginning his coaching career in 2019 with Chelsea's academy. Cole has previously worked with Everton, Birmingham City, and England U21. Cesena currently sits eighth in Italy's second tier, within playoff positions. Cole signed a contract through June 30, 2026 with an extension option. As a player, Cole won three Premier League titles, a Champions League, and earned 107 England caps across Arsenal and Chelsea.
