Gotham FC, the defending NWSL champions, acquired Norwegian midfielder Guro Reiten on loan from Chelsea through July 2026, when her Chelsea contract expires. Reiten has signed a pre-contract with Gotham that will extend through the 2029 NWSL season. The creative attacking midfielder brings significant experience, having won six league titles, four FA Cups, and three League Cups with Chelsea while recording 59 goals and 44 assists in 207 appearances. Reiten has earned two Women's Super League team-of-the-year honors and ranked among ESPN FC's 50 best women's players in 2024. She has represented Norway internationally with 21 goals in 108 appearances and competed in the last two World Cups. Her move comes as Chelsea sits third in England's Women's Super League with reduced playing time for Reiten this season.
