Tyson Bagent signed a two-year extension with the Chicago Bears that pays $10 million with up to $16 million in incentives. Bagent, 25, was entering the final season of his rookie contract and would have become a restricted free agent after the 2025 campaign. The former undrafted product from Division II Shepherd University has been Chicago's backup quarterback since 2023 and will again serve as Caleb Williams' backup. Bagent completed 13 of 22 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown in a preseason win over the Buffalo Bills. Coaching staff praised his grasp of the new offense and leadership in meetings.
