The beloved bald eagle pair, Jackie and Shadow from Big Bear, have welcomed two eaglets, Sunny and Gizmo, following a community-driven naming initiative. Over 54,000 name suggestions were submitted to the Friends of Big Bear Valley, the nonprofit managing the nest's live cameras. After narrowing the options to 30 finalists, local students participated in selecting the final names. Tragically, the third chick named Misty passed shortly after hatching, in honor of a dedicated volunteer who had recently passed away from cancer.
