Alex Ovechkin films congratulatory video for Sergei Fedorov during his jersey retirement night with Detroit Red Wings: 'One of the best player I ever play with'

Sergei Fedorov's number 91 was retired by the Detroit Red Wings during a ceremony at Little Caesars Arena, and the team collected congratulatory messages from former teammates and opponents, including Alex Ovechkin. Several former Red Wings — Nicklas Lidstrom, Tomas Holmstrom, Bob Rouse, and Chris Chelios — attended the celebration in person. Ovechkin praised Fedorov for helping him grow as a player and person and called him one of the best teammates. Fedorov was traded to the Capitals at the 2008 deadline, played one final NHL season in Washington, and the Red Wings arranged a crowd t-shirt display forming his number 91.
