Ex-Islander Brock Nelson at peace with move to Avalanche
"I'm excited to see the guys,"
"There's a lot of guys I haven't seen since the trade happened. So it will be nice to hang out [Saturday]."
"It will be weird seeing them on the other side. I prefer the way it's set up where it's here first and I see them before going back there. I think going back there will be a little bit different."
"It's going to be weird playing him. But it should be fun."
Brock Nelson was traded from the New York Islanders to the Colorado Avalanche on March 6 after contract-extension talks with the Islanders stalled. Nelson signed a three-year, $22.5 million deal with Colorado. Nelson played 901 games for the Islanders, ranking fifth in franchise games and goals (295) and eighth in points (574). Nelson has reunited socially with many former teammates and will play his first game against the Islanders as an Avalanche on Sunday, with a return to UBS Arena scheduled for Dec. 4. Nelson has recorded 10 goals and 10 assists in 37 games for Colorado.
