Cade Horton Preparing for Offseason Slow Cook with Crock Pot, Bakeware -
"Looks like Jed Hoyer isn't the only one who's going to have something cooking this offseason. Had things gone according to plan, the Cubs would actually be preparing to play in LA with Cade Horton on the mound for Game 1 of the NLCS. As it is, they're back at Wrigley to put a bow on things before heading to wherever they call home in the winter."
"Cubs superfan Sam Bernero is known to many for her candid pictures of Cubs players and staffers arriving at Wrigley or leaving for road trips. She even got a nice feature in the Tribune just before the end of the NLDS. Her latest round of pics came as players dropped by the clubhouse to pick up their stuff, which in Horton's case included...a crock pot?"
"The righty had his trusty slow cooker slung under his arm while balancing a set of Crate & Barrel bakeware - perhaps a gift from his wedding last December - atop his rolling suitcase. That's a pretty precarious position, especially on the brick walkways, and I'd normally be worried about that stuff getting jarred loose. Of course, it'd still be another 4-5 days before the Cubs admitted anything was broken."
The Cubs returned to Wrigley instead of preparing in LA for Game 1 of the NLCS with Cade Horton expected to start. Superfan Sam Bernero took candid photographs of players and staff arriving at and leaving Wrigley, including images of players collecting their belongings after the postseason. Cade Horton was photographed carrying a crock pot along with Crate & Barrel bakeware atop his rolling suitcase, possibly wedding gifts from December. The crock pot was slung under his arm in a precarious position on brick walkways, raising concern about items getting jarred loose. A suggestion was made to use cooking covers over the removable stoneware to simplify cleanup.
