Chicago's offense scored four runs, with James Triantos driving in the first run with an RBI single in the second inning, followed by Moisés Ballesteros scoring another run in the third. Christian Yelich hit a solo home run for Milwaukee to cut the lead to 2-1, but Owen Miller's sacrifice fly and Jefferson Rojas's solo home run extended Chicago's advantage to 4-1, which held through the final innings.
