"The Iowa Cubs suffered the lone loss of the minor league squads on Thursday, dropping their third straight matchup with the Nashville Sounds (Brewers). After falling behind 1-0 in the second, the Cubs answered back in the third with RBI from James Triantos and BJ Murray to make it 2-1. After Nashville tied it in the bottom of the third, Iowa would add two more runs to take a 4-2 lead in the fifth on RBI from Kevin Alcántara and Scott Kingery. But again, the lead didn't last long."
"Yacksel Rios allowed a run in the bottom of the fifth, then Corbin Martin allowed another in the sixth, and the game was tied yet again. In the bottom of the seventh, still tied 4-4, Christian Bethancourt tried to nail a runner stealing third, but the throw was off target and sailed into left field, which allowed the go-ahead run to score for the Sounds, and in the eighth, Nashville added one more on a sac fly."
"Iowa threatened in the ninth, getting runners on the corners with just one out. But after a sac fly of their own from Justin Dean, they were kept off the board and fell 6-5. While Iowa lost, the player of the game for them was Pedro Ramirez. Ramirez collected four hits at the plate in five appearances, scored a run, and stole a base. Thursday's performance upped his batting average to .317 on the season."
"For Iowa, Pedro Ramriez continued his red-hot season with a big-time performance at the plate. Knoxville got a great combined pitching performance, South Bend went nuclear and put up a whopping 25 runs, and Myrtle Beach rolled to an easy win. Let's get to it."
