Gage Workman, a former infielder for the Chicago Cubs, has been designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox shortly after being traded from the Cubs. In limited appearances, Workman struggled offensively and defensively, ultimately failing to record any hits in his time with the White Sox. He expressed gratitude towards the Cubs but now aims to succeed against them following his transfer. With questions surrounding his future, Workman may face another trade, a waiver claim, or a return to the minors.
Just a couple weeks after the Cubs traded away Gage Workman to the Chicago White Sox following him being designated for assignment, the White Sox have done the same.
Workman was originally acquired by the Cubs as a Rule 5 selection from the Detroit Tigers this offseason.
